Collecting art gets under your skin and supporting artists by buying their work is a great way to nurture the wider art scene. However, if you’re interested in building a collection and you’re spending money on art it is a good idea to educate yourself.

Join art consultant Hamish Coney and Starkwhite's Kelly Carmichael for a fun and information filled session offering advice on how to go about buying art and what to look out for.

Topics include:

  • How to start an art collection
  • Collecting for your home
  • Collecting for corporate spaces
  • What to look for in an art work
  • The difference between art and design
  • The difference between buying from an artist vs a gallery or auction house
  • How to talk about your art works
  • Where to look for and learn about art
  • Where to turn to with your questions about art
