Join us for our upcoming artist talk with Ynes Guevara on Sunday 19 May at 2pm.
At this talk, Ynes Guevara will be in conversation with curator James Hope to discuss her new exhibition Altar, Beautifying Understanding.
In this new suite of paintings, Ynes looks to feminine archetypes to explore the magical and imaginary. Her reconstructed silhouettes produce new imagery, considering the duality of the divine and erotic using a palette of six magenta tones, a colour that holds much significance for her.
This talk will be an opportunity to gain an insight into Ynes’s practice and explore the literary and historical context of her work.
Nau mai koutou katoa! All are welcome at this free event.
