Based in Ōtautahi, Darryn graduated with a BFA in painting in 1993 from the University of Canterbury and completed his MFA (Painting) at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1998. His work is held in public collections thoughout New Zealand including Te Papa Tongarewa, Christchurch Art Gallery and the Chartwell Collection.
