The study sheds light on the influences that shaped Walters’ art, including Māori and Pacific art, surrealism, Mondrian, De Stijl, the Bauhaus, Euro-American abstraction, conceptual art, and minimalism.

As an acclaimed author, Francis Pound’s insights into Walters’ artistry are both profound and enlightening. “Gordon Walters” not only offers a compelling narrative about the artist’s life but also serves as an invaluable resource for understanding twentieth-century art and its multifaceted influences.
