Join McLeavey Gallery this Saturday midday for an informal conversation, between Nicola Farquhar and Shannon Te Ao (writer and artist). Both Nicola and Shannon have been exhibiting for around fifteen years, and have seen each others’ work evolve over this time. They will talk about some thematic crossovers in their work. This includes an interest in storytelling and histories, as well as the way words are embodied through, rhythm, pattern and song.

There will be a informal conversation on Saturday the 31st of May at 12.00 Nicola in conversation with Shannon Te Ao.- Both Nicola and Shannon have been exhibiting for around fifteen years, and have seen each others’ work evolve over this time.

In this conversation they will talk about some thematic crossovers in their work. This includes an interest in storytelling and histories, as well as the way words are embodied through, rhythm, pattern and song.

Nicola’s work includes references to art history, colloquial images, and forms associated with machinery, animals and other bodies. This conversation will consider her thoughts on these references, and they ways they suggest the shapeshifting nature of matter.
