Join us for an evening of conversation and education at Puke Ariki as we host the first of three wānanga that will build on the ideas presented in our latest exhibition Nekenekehia Tukua.

“Hui Wānanga: A conversation between audience and speakers”

We welcome all to attend an open discussion, focusing on the role Toi Māori could play within education. Hear from our Kai Korero (Guest speakers) including Wharehoka Wano, Tumuwhakarito (CEO) of Te Kāhui o Taranaki Trust and Te Ingo Ngaia, Pouwhakarauora Reo ki Taranaki.

Damon Ritai, Deputy National Coordinator at Te Arahou o Aotearoa, will be the Kai Pūkorero (host) of the evening, guiding our speakers and audience through this two-way conversation.

This wānanga is perfect for Taranaki-based educators, administrators and those interested in joining the conversation surrounding art education and the involvement of Toi Māori beyond the ‘fine art’ space. We encourage all those who participate to actively engage in this discussion, sharing in this important conversation with the group.
