There Is Nowhere to Go, There Is Nothing to Do brings together a focused selection of photographs by Tāmaki Makaurau-based artist Greta Anderson, produced between 1997 and 2022. The exhibition anticipates the launch of a new monographic publication of the same title, designed by exhibition curator New Public and published by Rim Books.
Te Uru are also welcoming Ihirangaranga / Resonances of the Forest from collective research project Toi Taiao Whakatairanga. Between 2021 and 2023, the collective commissioned eleven Māori artists to develop new works through engagement with communities in areas affected by myrtle rust and kauri dieback. The artists and their collaborators have drawn from mātauranga Māori and Western science to explore grief, healing and restoration.
Join Te Uru for a glass of Everyday Wine or a Hallertau pilsner and some delicious Florets focaccia served with artisanal preserves from the Modern Preserver.
These exhibitions have been generously supported by Artmount & Framing Matters, Creative New Zealand, Two Rooms, and Ngā Rākau Taketake / New Zealand’s Biological Heritage National Science Challenge.
