The Tylee Cottage artist residency programme was established in 1986, and is one of the oldest in New Zealand. Over 60 artists have stayed at Tylee, several of whom have decided to make Whanganui their permanent home.
Hear from the Council’s Heritage Advisor Scott Flutey and Sarjeant Curator and Public Programmes Manager Greg Donson about the cottage’s history and the important role it plays in supporting the Sarjeant Gallery and the arts community in Whanganui.
