You are warmly invited to join Hopkinson Mossman to launch Fiona Connor's new limited edition artwork and celebrate her forthcoming publication on Tuesday 6 August, 5.30pm at Fount-via. Fount-via is the studio of designers Warren Olds and Felix Henning-Tapley, located at 70F Mackelvie Street (through the courtyard), Grey Lynn, Auckland.
+1 310 951 9459 is a luxurious white cotton towel embroidered with a phone number. The work wryly synthesises crucial and recurring themes in Connor's work; the towel embodies a sustained interested in the domestic, and the interplay between private and public space, while the phone number (that belongs to the artist's close friend and collaborator) signals an insistence on dialogue, and connectivity with a community.
Produced in an edition of 30, there are just 10 of these special objects available in New Zealand. The proceeds from sales of +1 310 951 9459 go toward the printing costs of a new monograph on Fiona Connor's work, due to be released at the end of this year.
