Towards the Art of Sustainable Local Filmmaking.

Andrea Bosshard and Shane Loader, founders of Torchlight Films, have been developing a filmmaking model that takes advantage of digital technologies to create a low-budget but professional film practice that is prolific, vigorous, independent and above all, relevant to our society. Directors of acclaimed independent feature films Kobi, The Great Maiden's Blush and Hook Line & Sinker, they will discuss their commitment to a sustainable and local filmmaking ethos, their filmmaking practice and in particular their method of developing authentic stories and performance based on British director Mike Leigh's improvisational processes. As a special bonus, short excerpts from Torchlight Films will be screened.
