Join us for an evening of conversation and education at Puke Ariki as we host our final wānanga that will build on the ideas presented in our latest exhibition Nekenekehia Tukua.

“Hui Wānanga: A conversation between audience and speakers”

Hear from an array of Kai Korero (Guest speakers) including Te Ingo Ngaia Pouwhakarauora Reo ki Taranaki; Game developer Morgana Watson and Govett Quilliam’s Troy Wano and Amalie Blackburn.

This wānanga will focus on how the GLAM sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) can engage collaboratively with Māori artists. We will explore the representation of Toi Māori and artists in these spaces, discussing Memorandums of Understanding, taonga, whakapapa and relationships using the intentions of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to guide us.

Damon Ritai, Deputy National Coordinator at Te Arahou o Aotearoa, will be the Kai Pūkorero (host) of the evening, guiding our speakers and audience through this two-way conversation.

This wananga will be particularly engaging to those involved in the GLAM sector, we welcome both professional and public to join us as we discuss these topics. And encourage all those who participate to actively engage in this discussion, sharing in this important conversation with the group.
