On final day of his exhibition, Julian Hooper will be in conversation with curator Megan Dunn on The Letter, his alphabet frieze, and new directions in his work. Join us at 11am at The National Library of New Zealand to celebrate the show.
Julian Hooper
Born in Auckland, 1966, of mixed English, Hungarian and Tongan heritage, Hooper has exhibited extensively in New Zealand and Australia since 1990. He received a BFA from the University of Auckland 1989, and an MFA from RMIT, Melbourne in 1999. Hooper's works are held by the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Queensland Art Gallery, Australian Catholic University Art Gallery, and the Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui.
Billy Bartley-Nees
Billy Bartley-Nees is the owner and director of Envy Gallery, a commercial contemporary art space in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. The gallery programme has a focus on curated group exhibitions alongside solo shows from emerging and established, local and international artists.
