Join us for Pī a workshop led by artist Aidan Taira Geraghty (Kāi Tahu, Ngāi Tūāhuriri), currently exhibiting in Ka kore, Kua kore. In this workshop, participants are invited to reflect on their ancestral ties and create illustrations inspired by their personal connections.
Date: Tuesday, 11th July Time: 10 - 11 am
During this workshop, Aidan will guide participants in the process of illustration, encouraging them to express their cultural heritage through your artwork. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their pepeha through metaphors as they visually represent their ancestral connections.
Aidan will later be taking the illustrations created during the workshop and engraving them onto river stones. These engraved stones will later become part of the Ka kore, Kua kore exhibition.
No prior experience is necessary; this workshop welcomes artists of all levels. All you need to bring is your own pepeha and explore the depth of your ancestral connections.
Limited spots are available, so please RSVP by 10th July 12 pm and contact lindsey@blueoyster.org.nz to secure your place.
