Join vibrant textile artists Lissy and Rudi Robinson-Cole as they discuss their artistic practices, inspirations and their work featured in our exhibition Toi is Rongoaa. Attendance is free for this artist talk but please register online as numbers are limited.

Husband-and-wife duo Rudi and Lissy married in 2017, dedicating their future artistic partnership to their ancestors and the universe. Handcrafted at their Manurewa studio, their iconic crocheted sculptural forms are created in neon colours, embodying true unfiltered joy and healing.

“Rudi and I are dreamers, makers, and weavers. We are crocheting a world which holds the space of not only the totality of our experiences, stories and Taonga, but which also holds space for our collective consciousness and stories. Karetao offers us a wayto imagine how our people used puppets to express our stories and voices as well as acknowledging the ways in which we had fun. Reclaiming our truths and stories through toi connects us deeply to a healing energy that ripples out to our whānau and beyond.”
