govettbrewster.comLASFF is an annual non-profit event which aims to bring together Latin American, Spanish and other New Zealand communities through the big screen.
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the Latin America and Spain Film Festival (LASFF) in 2021. This is the festival’s 19th edition which, as you may be aware, was intended to take place in September-November 2020; unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we were left with no option other than to postpone it. Thankfully, we are now able and very excited to bring this festival back to the New Zealand cultural scene.
As always, LASFF will be taken to multiple cities in New Zealand (venues, dates, and times to be announced on the website and social media), and remains a free event, which allows us to give the opportunity to a large audience to interact and immerse themselves in our vibrant, rich cultures and languages through the films shown, connecting our public to Latin America and Spain through this artistic expression.
Lastly, we would like to give our deepest thanks and appreciation to our sponsors for their generous, on-going support; our venues for their continued support and giving LASFF a home in each of their cities, allowing us to bring it to more people across the country; the Embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Peru and Spain in New Zealand, and their staff, all of whom have been instrumental for the organisation, planning and execution of the festival; and last but not least, our audience, for making each festival a success, and giving us the inspiration to keep this cultural experience alive.
We hope you can join us this year!
