Celebrate Matariki with friends and whānau at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. At this free event, purchase kai, shop at te mākete (market), and keep the tamariki busy making craft inspired by Matariki. Join renowned choreographer and dancer Taane Mete (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Korokī Kahukura) for his performance conceived especially for Matariki, Marae in the Sky. Listen to Grammy award winner Jerome Kavangah (Ngāti Maniapoto – Matakore, Mōkai Pātea, Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Rangi – Awa Whanganui, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Caomhánach) showcase his whānau collection of over 50 taonga puoro in Power to the Puoro.
