Join us for a special evening with Rau Hoskins who works as a practitioner, researcher and educator working in the field of Māori architecture, housing and cultural landscape design, Rau brings a rare combination of kaupapa Māori design skills coupled with significant experience with urban design, Māori heritage, cultural and educational design consultancy over the last 30 years.

Rau will be speaking to a selection of design projects around Aotearoa that demonstrate the successful reconnection of Mana whenua to place - projects which simultaneously allow other Māori, Tāngata Tiriti and manuhiri to deepen their appreciation and respect for those places. Additionally he will give insights into the 2014 Venice Biennale Aotearoa exhibition and current Moananui (Pacific) tohunga hanga whare (master carver / house builder) research.

The Monica Brewster Evenings (MBE) in association with Govett Quilliam – The Lawyers bring an impressive array of national and international artists and cultural thinkers to New Plymouth. For a different kind of night out, join us for talks, presentations and performances in a casual and intimate atmosphere.
