In association with the exhibition Toro Whakaara, we are pleased to present our first Ockham Lecture for 2022. This annual series includes lectures and panel discussions across different themes that critically engage with craft, design and architecture.
For this Ockham Lecture, Adrian Pettit (Te Ākitai Waiohua) will share experiences from his role within the New Zealand’s largest infrastructure project, the City Rail Link, alongside Simon Lough, part of the CRL design team.
Adrian has a background in architecture and is part of the Mana Whenua Forum that has played an essential role in providing mātauranga Māori the City Rail Link project.
The Mana Whenua Forum undertakes kaitiakitanga responsibilities associated with the CRL project, including monitoring, sustainability measures and providing input of Maori mātauranga in relevant stages of the project.
Kaitiaki for Te Ākitai Waiohua, Adrian Pettit (Te Ākitai Waiohua) has represented Te Ākitai Waiohua as member of the CRL-Mana Whenua Forum since 2015. The CRL-Mana Whenua Forum has played an essential role in providing mātauranga (knowledge) to New Zealand’s largest infrastructure project, the City Rail Link.
Simon Lough (City Rail Link Limited) has been working on the design and delivery of the CRL project, in partnership with Mana Whenua, over for the past seven years. He has a background in design and delivery of public spaces and private development.
