christchurchartgallery.org.nz

A collaborative project between composer Riki Pirihi and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

If you've ever wanted to take part in a performance art experience, you’ve got to join CSO musicians for this unique event. guided by Aotearoa music legend and expert conductor Riki Pirihi (Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Māhanga), both musicians and conductor bring together their collective musical intelligence, history and vocabulary to compose music in real-time. Using a series of signs and gestures to inform, enjoy the freedom of expression that this method of music-making will allow you to achieve. Bring your instrument, voice, or anything that makes a sound (prior experience is optional!) and be part of this momentous occasion, where taonga pūoro harmoniously sit alongside Western classical instruments to create a world premiere like no other!
