Whether you already love making zines or want to step up to sharing your creativity in printed form – welcome!

Zines are the original low-carbon footprint form of mass consciousness raising. A zine is a small handcrafted, self-produced booklet of original or re-purposed writing and images. It's a great way to publish and share your own art, poems, opinions, photos, slogans, manifestos and more.

This free workshop responds to the themes of Waikato Museum's exhibition Six Extinctions - especially the climate crisis. Bring your own poems or drawings or anything else you want to zine-ify. Or you can create pages on the spot with collage, writing and drawing materials provided. We also have a photocopier and paper for you to use. You’ll take your zine home with you, and be part of a lo-fi, sustainable movement for publishing, activism and sharing your passions. Save the planet, make a zine!

Suitable for ages 13 years and older.

Tickets Free! Please register so we know you are coming along. All materials supplied - but feel free to bring your own too!
