Snacks is a collection of short, salty and sweet art essays and texts from 12 participants in the Chez Derriere art writing programme, hosted by Felixe Laing from November 2022 to July 2023.
Join Chez Derriere for the publication launch of Snacks on Wednesday 6 December, 6-8pm at Chez Derriere, Parnell Train Station, Cheshire Street, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
Snacks collates 12 new writers' perspectives and diverse styles on topics such as the place of the personal essay in art writing, being disappointed and disrupted by weather, how artists should engage with materials from the natural world, and exploring collaborative, artistic partnerships with AI and te taiao.
This will be the last event at Chez Derriere, so join the gallery to celebrate the end of the year and the programme by eating snacks and reading Snacks! Everyone is welcome.
Snacks will be available to purchase on the night and from Te Tuhi's website following the launch.
