Superpartner is proud to announce, Sound That Puts Spots on the Edges of the Room, an exhibition of new paintings by Jake Walker. This marks Jake’s first exhibition in New Zealand and follows his solo exhibition at Sherbet Green, London, and the La Brea Artist Residency at The Cabin, Los Angeles, where he held a solo presentation in September 2024.

We warmly invite you to attend the opening reception for Jake’s exhibition at Superpartner from 5pm, Saturday February 15. Jake will be in attendance.

We will also host a special conversation with Jake about his practice and diverse artistic influences at 5pm, Friday 14 February. Please note this is an exclusive ticketed event as part of the Gardens + Galleries weekend. Tickets are available to purchase via www.gardensandgalleries.com and all proceeds go directly to Plunket.

Alongside his exhibition at Superpartner, Walker will also lead Drawings, Diagrams, Dance, a collaborative workshop at Queenstown’s Te Atamira. at 3:30pm, Thursday February 13. In this workshop, he will guide participants through creating drawing-based choreographic scores, which dancers will interpret as movement pieces.
