Grab your blanket, a picnic, the kids, and the dog – for some FREE summer sounds at The Vivian. We’re thrilled to have Wendy Douglas in charge of the decks for a lazy afternoon of fun – and fundraising for Harbour Hospice.

Wendy will create a soundscape for the afternoon inspired by the playfully passionate work in tHe - an exhibition by Iain Cheesman in the North Gallery. It’s a colourful, creative and critically-acclaimed show that’s inspired Wendy to curate something really special for us, so come along and enjoy a FREE afternoon to remember. While you're there, don’t miss the other fantastic shows by glass artist Elizabeth McClure and painter Nicholas Ives.

We’ll have Sylvia’s espresso and real fruit ice cream, plant stalls in the Ray White marquee, and maybe even the odd cold beer from our sponsors, Sawmill Brewery!

Legend that he is, artist Iain Cheesman has donated a limited edition Idiots small sculpture for this great cause – worth $1200! It’s the grand First Prize in a raffle that will happen on the day with all proceeds going to Harbour Hospice. Tickets are just $10, and other prizes include a unique piece by our ultra-cool Japanese/Kiwi potter Aaron Scythe. Draw will take place by Iain at 4pm.

About Harbour Hospice: Our local Harbour Hospice gives free compassionate, specialist care to those with any life limiting illness, while offering wrap-around support to whanau and caregivers. They help loved ones live every moment – whether at home or being cared for at hospice – and are dedicated to supporting their wellbeing in every way, medically, spiritually, psychologically and socially. Although they receive some government funding, they rely heavily on donations and fundraising. We’re proud to support them with this special day
