Please join us at Sanderson to hear Teresa HR Lane discuss her artwork and practice, as well as her latest exhibition Here For Ages, currently on show at the gallery.
Lane is a multimedia artist who has recently reacquainted herself with the rural landscape of Aotearoa, relocating from central Auckland to a small corner of a retired sheep farm in Te Tai Tokerau. Here Lane’s practice has dramatically shifted, taking in a new landscape shaped by the absent Kauri, the silent birdcall and a land now naked and covered with livestock.
In her latest exhibition the artist presents a visual exploration of how we view the land of Aotearoa, as well as the environmental realities that we face. The artist's use of native birds, trees, photographed and painted imagery in her intricate mixed media collages shifts into a new territory; questioning our relationship with and responsibility for the whenua.
There will be an opportunity for a Q&A and kōrero at the end
