This lab offers a practical introduction to audio-visual installation in the gallery space.

Presented by Elam technician Zixuan Guo, participants will learn through the practical application of AV skills while gaining valuable insight into the field of digital mediums in contemporary art.

Participants will be guided through file formatting and subsequent adaptation of work for exhibition, audio installation strategies, and keystone correction.

KEY SKILLS

Preparation of gallery space for AV install, file formatting and appropriate preparation and use of flat screens, wall brackets, projectors, MP3 Players, power, audio and HDMI cables.

The Digital Media Skills Lab is suitable for artists, technicians, and gallery workers at an early stage of their career, or those wanting a refresher.

BIOGRAPHY

Zixuan Guo is passionate about moving image media, her artistic practice primarily revolves around creating observational videos captured both on location and in the studio. Through her captivating location landscapes, Zixuan aims to evoke a serene and contemplative atmosphere, where movement transforms into silence. Her work also covers performance videos, documentaries and video installation. Zixuan has worked internationally assisting and collaborating with other artists from the early production stages to post-production and gallery installation. Zixuan is now applying all this experience at Elam helping students with her non stop problem-solving approach.
