Book Launch
eventbrite.co.nz/the-near-future-book-launchYou are invited to Hannah Watkinson's book launch from 3-5pm on Saturday 2 October, at the CoCA Toi Moroki Ō Papa gallery.
Drawing on a decade of photographic work and research, The Near Future considers the psychological landscape of the Buller region. Exploring the key elements that make up the socio-political climate of the Westport area - coal and gold mining, cement production, natural environment and climate change, this photo book raises a number of fundamental questions about the future of the place.
The Near Future publication is distributed by Bad News Books and the associated exhibition is presented in partnership with the University of Canterbury’s Ilam School of Fine Arts. The publication is available to order now and books will be available on the day for purchase by cash or bank transfer.
There will be light refreshments and some great conversations and healthy debate. Hannah and the CoCA team would be over the moon if you are able to attend.
Due to distancing and number limits this event is private and by invitation only - to be assured of a place, please register your attendance here
