Mokopōpaki and Te Tuhi warmly invite you to join them at Te Tuhi, 13 Reeves Road, Pakuranga on Saturday 23 March, from 4 - 6pm to celebrate the opening of The True Artist Helps the World by Asking for Trust by PĀNiA!

Catch the free Art Bus to this event! Te Tuhi Art Bus will depart from Artspace, 300 Karangahape Road, at 3:30pm. Returning from Te Tuhi at 6pm.

PĀNiA!'s exhibition The True Artist... is a series of solo and newly commissioned collaborative works by the anonymous, über-cool-girl, artist-about-town. Including her Pakuranga Customs House or Attitude Arrival Lounge: an immigration and border control office, complete with passport-issuing facility, welcoming those wanting to explore a world built on trust. In architectural form, Pakuranga Customs House adapts a well-known mahi whai or Māori string figure. Its transparent walk-through walls represent the change of heart necessary for trust, allowing visitors access to the unexpected realm of PĀNiA! – where the mysterious myth-maiden and doyenne of the deep becomes a legend in her own lunchbox.

Be there or be square. Nau mai, Haere mai!

The True Artist Helps the World by Asking for Trust is a collaboration between Te Tuhi and Mokopōpaki. Co-curated by Gabriela Salgado, Artistic Director, Te Tuhi; Mokopōpaki and PĀNiA!
