Between 1988 and 1989, photographer Ans Westra undertook a residency with The Dowse Art Museum to roam the streets of Te Awakairangi and capture a sense of our communities. Three decades later, we’ve uncovered new images from this time of Naenae.

Join us for the opening day of the exhibition at Coco Pop Up Community Space, where newly printed works from this period are on display and exhibition curator Sian van Dyk will be on site. There will also be maps available to show you where the billboards of her photos are mounted.

Please note, due to Covid restrictions, we can only host twenty people in the space at once, so in the event that we reach capacity you may be asked to wait. Vaccine passes will be required on entry.
