The tour will build on Hamish’s current work with the non-human occupants of the university grounds, as Stanley will lead a guided tour through the significant history of campus gardens, an area that dates back to the ancestral activity of Ngāti Pāoa and Ngāti Whatua in the early 17th century, and which has its origins as a garden in 1841.
LOCATION
The tour will begin by the flame tree on the main lawn outside of Old Government House at 1:30pm, located behind Waterloo Quadrant.
