As the final instalment of Mark Harvey’s project, Whakamāui: Recovery Positions, the intersections of public art, culture, and politics will be reflected on at the New Zealand Wars memorial in Memorial Park, at the corner of Symonds and Wakefield Street. Faisal Al-Asaad with Mark Harvey will present on past and present contexts of Pākehā colonisation, specifically as they emerge through public sculpture, monuments, and memorials.
