Join us for an engaging talk on native and introduced bees in Aotearoa and their unique ecological habits. Working Bees brings together an entomologist and an artist who each study and observe bees in their local environments.

In this event, we will hear from Dr. Jenny Jandt, a renowned researcher specialising in bees and wasps, including native bees. Jenny heads the Jandt Lab at the University of Otago, where her research sheds light on the behaviour and ecology of these insect species.

We will also be joined by Taarn Scott, an artist whose ceramic sculptures, candles and sound work in Pieces Spaces Species draw from her own research into native and introduced bees.

Working Bees is part of the exhibition Pieces Spaces Species with Yana Dombrowsky-M’Baye, Lucy Hill and Taarn Scott.

Attendance is free and refreshments will be provided. Feel free to invite friends and family who share an interest in bees, art and the ecology of local environments.
