As Two Rooms kicks off 2019 you are invited to join us to celebrate the opening of an exhibition of new works by the acclaimed British artist David Shrigley. With dry humour and strangely profound insights, Shrigley’s irreverent observations lay bare the contradictions, absurdities and sheer comedy of everyday life.

These paintings on paper present an array of curious propositions and eccentric moral dilemmas. His distinctive drawing style plays words and images against each other, at once deadpan and satirical. Part slapstick, part stream of consciousness, part social commentary, Shrigley’s idiosyncratic work is consciously clunky, riotously funny and deceptively complex
