Join us for an artist talk and watercolour workshop in the Gallery’s beautiful Members Lounge.

Julia Holderness is a scholar and artist with a fascination for visual archives and the modernist period. She explores these topics in an unconventional way: through the fabrication of modernist artist-designer Florence Weir.

At this Young Members event, Curator New Zealand Art, Julia Waite will chat with Julia Holderness about her research and creations as her alter ego Weir, followed by a relaxed, beginner-friendly watercolour workshop. Holderness will share techniques and tips on how to create a lively botanical composition through mark making and careful colour use. The workshop will be held in our Members Lounge looking out over Rangipuke Albert Park to give you lots of inspiration. No previous artistic training needed!

This event is part of our Young Members event programme, for the bold and curious under 40s (and the young at heart). Light refreshments are included in your ticket. Thanks to our drinks partner, Almighty.
