'…No matter
how you twist it,
life stays frozen in the headlights.
Funny, none of us heard the roar.’
– Wakefulness, John Ashbery
APOCALYPSEoCLOCK continues themes, motifs and ‘complaints’ aired recently in the projects SMOKE & MIRRORS, and SLEEPwalking…
Here Reynolds jettisons his signature plays with slogans and broken English for a ‘double vision’ effect within a repeated diptych form. There’s an implied wonky clock face, a flickering vanishing point, and collapsing phantom clock hands amid a watery skyscape. The mirroring within each diptych panel implacably attempts to link the personal and the global, in a singsong of bitter metaphysics.
Opening Hours
- Tuesday - Friday, 11am - 6pm
- Saturday, 11am - 3pm
- or by appointment
Address
- 510 Karangahape Road
- Auckland 1010
