• Gretchen Albrecht

One of New Zealand’s preeminent abstract painters, Gretchen Albrecht has achieved wide renown as a consummate colourist. Over the course of her distinguished career, that now spans several decades, she has continued to pursue the depths of the medium, focusing on an experiential intersection of colour, movement and form. This exhibition at Two Rooms, Between gesture and geometry is timed to celebrate the release of her forthcoming monograph of the same title (Between gesture and geometry, Luke Smythe, Massey University Press, 2019) and presents an inspired selection of her most recent work.
