Telly went to St Pats College, Wellington in the late eighties, to Art School at Canterbury Uni and won a scholarship to study for a Masters at the University of Sydney. He lives in Sydney now with his partner Michelle Ah Kuoi, also an artist. Painting has taken over as he gets exhibition offers here and in Sydney.
He’s of Samoan, Chinese, Tokelauan and Tuvaluan descent. Telly explores abstraction, making patterns and rhythms and disrupting those innate in his culture.
His fragmented and fractured forms fluctuate in a timeless space.
