Going with the Flow is Jacky Pearson's new watercolour solo exhibition. Her style concentrates on the play of light on the subject and the show features a wide variety of subject matter from portraits of artisans at their work, Wellington city scenes to clouds, sea and the Wairarapa landscape.
Jacky has been painting watercolours for 30 years and has received many national and international awards. She has represented NZ several times in international exhibitions and her work has made it onto international magazines and book covers. Twenty years ago, she made a series of NZ lighthouse calendars which sold worldwide and new paintings of Cape Palliser and Castlepoint feature in this show. She loves to paint in the outdoors, on site.
Many of these paintings have started as an outdoor version and have been repainted in her home studio. She paints a feeling, the light and shadows and all the atmospheric dimensions to either a pastoral scene or a busy city.
