This series references female figures from popular culture, including the character of Laura Palmer from David Lynch's 1990 television series Twin Peaks; Buttercup from the 1987 film The Princess Bride; and actress Phoebe Cates, who gained cult status following her role in the 1982 film Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
