Weather is not just happening to us; we humans are happening to the weather.

Huarere: Weather Eye, Weather Ear is the physical culmination of a year-long digital programme following the seasons of the Maramataka, in which Te Tuhi becomes a ‘weather station’ in the World Weather Network, a constellation of 28 international arts agencies spurred on by our collective experience of new, unwelcome weathers.

Our weather eye and weather ear are sensory alert systems. Attuning to cultural, scientific and activist ‘quasi-instruments’ of weather observation, the artists in Huarere: Weather Eye, Weather Ear offer a means of feeling and knowing our warming climes.
