Idle Plot is an extension of Cai's ongoing project Ordinary Auckland, which aims to unveil the often unnoticed patterns, textures, objects, and shapes that inhabit Auckland's suburban neighbourhoods.
By diligently observing these details, Cai believes that we can discover new and unusual evidence of our own reality, and he extends an invitation to viewers to join him in this exploration.
In this series, Cai employs a mindful approach, fully immersing himself in his surroundings and attuning his senses to the environment.
