Artist Tessa Ma'auga returns to Te Manawa with a new exhibition.
According to ancient worldviews indigenous to China, the universe, humanity and all existence evolved from a single origin, inheriting a spiritual and physical reality.
Inspired by these ideas, Ma'auga uses her signature sculptures of red fabric to evoke the genealogical, philosophical, cultural and artistic connections that flow between Southern China and Aotearoa.
