McLeavey Gallery presents Mōhio, an exhibition of new works by Darryn George. Opening on Wednesday 21 August.
Darryn George, is a Christchurch born artist, who has been painting since the early 1990's. His journey began at Ilam, he went onto develop a unique visual language that synthesised elements of his interest in international abstraction, with his Christian faith and his fascination with Māori meeting house design. On his journey as an artist he has evolved from linear abstraction to soft figuration, as seen in Darryn's Garden of Eden series, and now beyond.
