Sarah Morrah’s work pulses with the energy of transformation, thoughts turned into clay, memories layered in paint. As both artist and doctor, she navigates the intricate relationship between mind and body, where creativity becomes both an exploration and an escape.

Her ceramics are sculpted synapses, vibrant with the electricity of neural pathways, each piece a physical manifestation of intangible thought. These forms feel alive, shaped by the unseen currents of the mind, rendered in bright, tactile hues.

Sarah’s “thoughts on paper”, feel like layered daydreams, or déjà vu. They unfold like memories revisited, familiar yet changed, glued together with the quiet persistence of the past on our present.

Alongside these, her still-life floral paintings breathe new life into a time-honored subject. Watercolour pools and evaporates, leaving behind organic patterns. These delicate works are then deconstructed and reassembled with found images, her photography, and paint, forming collages that feel both intuitive and deeply considered.

Rooted in a feminist sensibility, Sarah embraces craft and multimedia, seeing all forms of making as equally valid. She has always been drawn to the act of creation, first through contemporary jewellery, and now through painting and sculpture. Even as she pursued medicine, art remained a constant undercurrent, her first paycheck as a junior doctor funding night classes in jewellery making.

Neural Bloom is a meditation on the power of our thoughts. Each work carries a whisper of something both ephemeral and enduring, like our neural pathways, like thoughts blooming into form.
