Michael Lett is pleased to present NOTES, an exhibition of work by Daniel von Sturmer at 3 East St.

In NOTES, von Sturmer presents a picture of language in motion. Single verbs, nouns, and adjectives are presented on replica Post-It notes, elevating humble stationery in aluminium. At any given moment, just a single note will be placed on the wall, replaced periodically by an attendant. Through this ritual action, a lone word becomes imbued with significance and potential. Von Sturmer asks us to consider how language is mutable and ever-shifting, and how meaning and narrative is constructed through context, and ultimately, through us.
