Photographic portraits of nineteen New Zealand nuclear test veterans who participated in Operation Grapple, the code name for a nuclear testing programme in the Pacific from 1957-58. Photographed in their own homes, we see the veterans 60 years later after being exposed to extreme conditions, accompanied by their stories. Photographer Denise Baynham tells this story of this little-known chapter in New Zealand history, to honour and recognise those who served at Operation Grapple and the legacy left for generations to come
