We are delighted to present iconic sculptor Jeff Thomson's latest exhibition, and his first solo show since 2018, Paper clip chain.
Jeff Thomson is an accessible, theatrical and dynamic artist, with a leg-pulling sense of humour who is seemingly ‘in touch’ with many New Zealanders. To quote critic & close friend, John Perry, Thomson is the ‘undisputed Corrugated Iron Man of Australasia’.
Thomson has experimented with different materials including wire netting, paper, plastic and tin cans. In this exhibition we see the utilisation of meccano, knitting needles and paper clips. He has used many different techniques including building, layering, curving, welding and brazing (soldering with an alloy of brass and zinc).
This exhibition will delight you and your senses!
