Inspired by photographs taken by the artist of flooded roads in Wairarapa during the winter of 2022, Rebekah Farr’s works feature a cast of rabbit/human flood gods. They frolic above the inundated landscape like 'Deus ex Machina' gone wrong. Instead of helping us out of a tight spot, these gods are causing the problem and are oblivious to their effect on the world below. To create these large mixed-media works on paper, the artist has used monotype print and drawing techniques.
