Sculpture in the Gardens is on all summer, with 20 stunning outdoor sculptures forming a 1.7km trail through the Auckland Botanic Gardens. There are also many permanent sculptures located throughout the expansive gardens. The Huakaiwaka Indoor Gallery fills the Visitor Centre’s indoor gallery and spills out into the atrium and west wing. This indoor show presents a range of medium/small scale sculpture of various disciples from the sculptors exhibiting in the outdoor show, as well as previous exhibitors and invited guest artists; it reflects the incredible diversity of contemporary New Zealand sculptural practice.
