Kirsten Roberts
Kirsten Roberts holds a BDes (Hons) 2009 and graduated with Distinction in 2014 with a practice-led MDes from Unitec, Auckland. Her project engaged with theoretical writings on interiority to inform the pursuit of perpetual spaces or places in the medium of paint.

Roberts’ paintings are held by the James Wallace Arts Trust, Deercourt Trust, Vela Family Trust and in private collections both in New Zealand and overseas.

Jake Walker
Walker has exhibited extensively in Australia and New Zealand since 2009. In 2010 his work was highly commended in the RBS Emerging Artist Award and he won the inaugural Arkley Award at NOTFAIR, Melbourne. Walker’s work is held in the collections of Artbank Australia, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Chartwell Collection (Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki), the Wallace Arts Trust, Bowman Collection, the Joyce Nissan collection, as well as private collections in Australia, New Zealand and internationally.

Martin Poppelwell
Martin Poppelwell was born in Hawkes Bay in 1969 and currently resides in Napier. He studied at Otago University, and at the Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland University until 1991. His practice has a visual language all of its own – graphic, illustrative and humorous he extends this across drawing, painting, pottery, printmaking and installation work. His pots begin as an exploration of the every day but push well beyond functionality. They inform his painting, sometimes creating a fascinating conversation between the two. Language and colour also offer a playful tongue-in-cheek casualness that reflects contemporary life, and dissolve quite knowingly some of the boundaries we might feel around art. Recent shows include Making Animal, SPA_CE (Napier), medium to large works and small acts, Jonathan Smart Gallery (Christchurch), .. the ones I’ve finished, Day01 (Sydney) and Giddy Up, Melanie Roger Gallery (Auckland).

Tom Mackie
Tom Mackie is a Te-Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington based artist. He studied the Otago School of Fine Art in Dunedin and has exhibited widely throughout Australia and New Zealand at independent galleries including SPA_CE in Napier, McLeavey Gallery in Wellington as well as at Enjoy Public Art Gallery, Wellington; Blue Oyster Gallery, Dunedin; Box Copy, Brisbane; and TCB and C3 Contemporary, Melbourne.
