Stonewall is the title of this new exhibition by Anton Parsons. The title work is a wall piece in red travertine from Persia – 1300mm in diameter, hydrangea-like in composition, and sumptuous in colour. A gentle humour permeates this range of sculpture, both free- standing and at the wall, alongside a confidence and materiality in sculpture to breathe real life into the notion of indoor/outdoor living.
Anton Parsons trained at the Canterbury School of Art, Ilam in the early 90’s. He has made public work throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand, and is represented in collections both public and private right around the motu.
